New members have a 90-day transition period after they enroll in our plan. During this time, you can get a 30-day supply of your prescriptions that are not on our drug list, or that have step therapy or prior authorization requirements. After you get your 30-day supply is a good time to talk to your provider about a formulary exception or other drugs that may work for you.
If Customer Service confirms that we do not cover your drug, you have three options:
You can also purchase your drug and ask for reimbursement by making an exception request.
Your exception request does not obligate us to reimburse you if we do not approve your request. If we deny your request, you have the right to appeal our decision using our Prescription Drug Coverage Redetermination form.
Return the redetermination form by mail or fax as shown on the form.
Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in Blue Cross of Idaho Medicare Advantage plans through the CMS Medicare Online Enrollment Center located at www.medicare.gov.

Blue Cross of Idaho is a PPO, HMO or HMO POS health plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in Blue Cross of Idaho depends on contract renewal.
