Medicare Advantage Member Billing Options

When you enroll in a Blue Cross of Idaho Medicare Advantage plan, you choose how we collect your monthly premium. While your premium payment is due the first of every month, our billing choices let you choose a payment option that works for you. We offer several options; the option you choose will determine how we collect your premium.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

Monthly deductions from your bank account. The most popular billing option, also called "auto pay", this choice offers freedom from having to worry about your payment reaching Blue Cross of Idaho on time every month.

  • Choose any day between the first and the 24th of the month. You can start automatic billing deductions the next billing cycle after you enroll, or you can choose a specific month.
  • Your first monthly EFT deduction includes your payment plus any previous balance due.

You may authorize EFT premium payments by selecting the "Save time with auto pay" link after signing in to your account online.

Monthly Billing Statement

The traditional premium payment method. Each month we mail you a statement with a payment coupon.

  • Not specifying a payment option on your enrollment application means you automatically receive a monthly billing statement.
  • Your statement shows the amount due, any amount past due and your payment due date.
  • Your monthly statement includes a form to enroll in the EFT payment option.

Social Security Check Deduction

Pay directly using your Social Security benefit. Your monthly premium deducts from your Social Security check.

  • This payment option will not start until the Social Security Administration approves your request. Approval can take up to two months.
  • You must pay your premiums directly to Blue Cross of Idaho using the monthly billing statement option until notification of your Social Security deduction start date.

Online Payments

Blue Cross of Idaho accepts online payment with a debit card or electronic check.

  • Online payments are not reoccuring, however you may sign in and pay online each month.

To make an online payment, look for the "Make a Payment" after logging in to your account.

Pay in Person

Stop by our office at 3000 E. Pine Avenue in Meridian, ID. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We accept personal and cashier’s checks, money orders and cash. Currently we are not able to accept credit card payments.

Additional Payment Information

  • State of Idaho and Statewide Schools retirees may have an additional payment option. Call us to find out about using PERSI funds to pay your premiums.
  • Most banks offer convenient online bill paying services. Contact your bank for more information.

Frequently asked questions

When is my premium payment due?
Premiums are due the first day of each month. If you chose the EFT payment option, your premium may deduct from your bank account prior to the first day of the month.

How do I enroll in the EFT or Social Security deduction option?
 Members who want EFT deductions should complete the form on the back of their monthly statement. New members always receive their first monthly statement via mail and should complete the form as well to enroll in EFT. Those interested in the Social Security option should call customer service at 1-888-494-2583, TTY 1-800-377-1363.

When will I start seeing payments deducted from my bank account or Social Security check?
Your first EFT withdrawal may take up to a month to start depending on when we receive your request. On average, it can take up to two months for your first payment deduction from your Social Security check. Remember, you need to pay your premium while waiting for the Social Security option to take effect. If by chance, you pay us your premium and Social Security deducts payment for the same month from your check, we will issue you a refund.

What happens if there is a problem with my first EFT withdrawal?
Call us if your premium payment does not post to your account within six business days of the day you choose. You can call your bank to verify they have the correct account information as well.
